I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Michaels (Houston, TX) in Aug 2011
Interview
Very casual, it was actually a CEM (party/nights/weekend) manager who interviewed and hired me. The store manager wouldn't really talked to me till after about a week of working there. Turns out later after two years of me working there, the same manager who hired me, quit.
Easy and quick, pretty laid back process. It's an initial phone call to screen/schedule an in person interview and then the in person interview lasted about 15 minutes. Pretty conversational and standard questions.
Fast. Very friendly. Questionnaire!!!! But process goes quick. Manager is friendly and interview went fine. Super friendly conversation. Seasonal is easier to enter. After season is over it is easy to stay as a permanent employee.
