The office posted an ad on law bulletin for an associate attorney. They called me for an interview. The receptionist/ office manager was very friendly and encouraging on the phone. When I got to the office for the interview, I didn't know who was seated in the reception area because there was no name plate. She didn't greet me. I said hello, I'm here to see Larry Drury for an interview. She said, "No. You have to get through me first." Then Larry walked out and told me to come back to his office. I offered him my professional references and he said he didn't want them, because "I know you brought me a list of people who are going to say you're great, that's why you brought them." I asked him if he wanted my case list or writing sample. He didn't want those either. Instead, he looked at me and said that I must be getting tired of practicing law. Since he was so nasty about my materials and disinterested in my credentials I understood he was hoping for a younger associated.
