I applied online. I interviewed at ICF (Fairfax, VA) in Feb 2021
Interview
Probably the worst interview process that I have experienced. Applied online and spoke to the recruiter, who set up an interview with the hiring manager - which was essentially a phone interview to assess skills and experiences. Did not hear back from the for until a couple of weeks after that. I was then called for an interview day - which comprised of 4 interviews and spoke to different individuals at varying levels of seniority. I was told that this was the last step in the process. However, the team reached out a week later and asked me to complete an additional exercise and gave me a 4 day window to do so. It was a busy week for me, but I really liked the position so I invested a significant of time in completing it - and had it submitted. I was told a decision would be made in the next couple of days. However, its been 3 weeks since and I was completely ghosted by the recruiter. I have sent in multiple emails since and haven't heard back.
This is completely unethical and unprofessional as far as I see it, specially for a company the size of ICF. A candidate spends hours, if not days preparing for an interview and completing the assessments and the least they deserve at the end of it is to know the result of the process- whatever it maybe. The positive side of this experience was that I got to know first hand the culture of the organization, and I'm glad that I did not end up joining them.
