I applied in D.ec before xmas. I got an email that involved interview questions from corporate recruiter maybe around mid January. We then played phone tag for the next 3-4 weeks. We never were able to have the phone interview. Finally my local recruiter from the building I would be working at called me stating she had my resume on her desk and would like to set up an interview with the lead Doctor and head nurse, she stated she would have to get back to me. She ended up getting back to me 1 week later, finally 4 days after that I had my first and only interview with the lead doctor and nurse. Interview went amazing, yes I felt very nervous having 2 people sit down at a desk with their pen and paper taking notes of everything, however they were very humanistic and assured me I had nothing to be nervous about. They were friendly and got to know me a little bit before actual interview began. Interview lasted about 1 1/2 hours and remained quite casual. Interview became a little technical when it came to the clinical questions, however I knew my stuff, thank goodness I did because if i would have gone in there new grad RN I would have looked like an idiot. Doctor stated that he was going to ask me some clinical questions and if i do not answer his question he will ask again in a more complicated different way each time I do not provide the answer he wants. Scared me a little, but I knew my stuff, I almost had to pick up the nurses jaw from the desk, the doctor was asking me for specific doctors orders including labs and medications for certain conditions within the hospital setting, things that a nurse with 1 year of experience rarely are familiar with, but i believe i answered well. Interview ended with them explaining Humana benefits package and them taking copies of my nursing and drivers license. I stated to him I had another offer and how long it would take for them to get back to me if they wanted to onboard me or not, he stated he didn't quite know but that if he gets to corporate fast then they should get back to me within 2 weeks. That was on Thursday, by Tuesday corporate recruiter called with an offer and explained to me that this offer will not be negotiable after corporate approval. Corporate approval took almost 2 weeks, horrible wait. Then by Feb 28th I was given start date for march 18th and began the drug screening/background check.--pretty long process, but what they offer is worth the wait.
