I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at HeyTutor (Milwaukee, WI) in Sept 2023
Interview
The interview was over zoom by someone working outside the region I was in with minimal knowledge about where I would be placed and the community I served. The interviewer asked a few questions to determine my competence and comfortability in handling young people and addressing behavioral issues between students. I was essentially hired in the interview, which was a relief at the time since I needed stable employment. However, management is probably inaccessible and across the country. You will receive emails from people in God know’s where with vague threats about punitive action if you miss a punch in or something trivial like that. Any company will give you issues about the most anal things, but I would have preferred in-person management to guide me through curriculum and advocate for me with the school’s tutoring coordinator who schedules your tutoring sessions and is a contact at your school location. Disappointing experience, but a valuable one at that - I will be more discretionary when accepting job offers in the future.

Interview
The interview process was straightforward and transparent. It included basic math and English questions, along with classroom management and behavioral scenarios presented in both English and Spanish. Overall, the interview was balanced not overly difficult or easy. The key takeaway is that if you can effectively work with children and operate independently, the organization is open to supporting and working with you.

Interview
You are scheduled for a virtual interview. The interviewer named Christina was late to join and made it very obvious that she was not actively listening. You can see the reflection of her glasses that she is doing something else when you answer questions and does not offer a response to what you say. They offer you less pay that the job offer states and you have no say over the hours/days.
