Hersha Hospitality Trust interview questions

I was called a couple weeks after applying and asked to set up a phone call with HR for the next day. The HR manager was polite and conversational. She asked straightforward questions about my experience, why I was looking for a new role, etc. She did ask about my salary expectations, which seemed premature for an initial screening. Their expected salary range was below my current salary, but I was told the Finance team might be flexible and HR would get back to me the following business day with a response from Finance. I never received a follow-up, or a response to my thank-you/follow-up email; they just dropped off completely.
