After a 4hr interview that morning with another company where I was told I should aspire to be a director in my 5-year plan, I gave that answer when asked where I see myself in 5yrs during my 3hr interview at Henry Schein Orthodontics. I knew right away that it was not what the hiring manager wanted to hear. I was so disappointed that I had taken the advice of my previous interviewer! Other than that, I thought the interviews went very well. The people were friendly and professional-exactly the work environment I wanted. Having been a director, I was truthfully looking to be a manager again where I have more hands-on work. I interviewed with 4 people and then an hour with HR. I would’ve preferred an hour with the hiring manager. Each one gave me their business cards, encouraging me to connect with any questions. Yet I have gotten no response. From my emails. It’s a bit concerning that the organization had been recruiting for this position for nearly 4 months and had gone through several rounds of interviews. I was not prepared to want the job as much as I did. The team seemed to be cohesive and focused and the job responsibilities were a perfect fit.
