I applied online. I interviewed at Hamilton Lane in Oct 2021
Interview
Self-recorded interview answering 6 different questions (given unlimited time to plan). Super day the following week consisting of three 45-minute rounds with two members of the team. Generic behavioral questions with a couple of technical financial questions mixed in (nothing too challenging). Last part is a case study where you are to analyze an investment opportunity.
3 rounds, 1 Excel test, 1 interview with director, 3rd with associate. Not technical at all, mostly fit. Still you need to know y how private equity works but no MoM or LBO paper asked. Not accepted but I believe it is because I needed sponsorship that they don’t provide.

Question 1
Why do you wanna join Hamilton lane, why private equity and precisely why secondary ? Recent deals, explain LBO etc…
There was one Hirevue, five interviews, and one written test in the interview process. Interviewers will be full-time employees of HL, from associates to principals. Rather than modeling, the written test focuses on Excel, which is relatively easy.
