I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Gusto (San Francisco, NM) in Sept 2015
Interview
My interview process with Gusto was overwhelmingly positive. After applying online, I was contacted by a recruiter. We set up a 30 minute phone screen which was more conversational and relaxed than traditional/rigid. The recruiter was my contact through the entire interview process and she was extremely communicative, keeping me in the loop every step of the way. After the phone screen, I completed a take home assignment which they expected to take between 6-10 hours. I ended up spending right around 10 hours since it was a pretty detailed and thorough assignment. The questions focused on writing style, research ability and understanding of the company/role. After I completed the writing assignment I was asked to come in for an in-person interview during which I met with a team lead from the account management team, the customer care team and the head of growth. Each interview was about 45 minutes and felt personal and relaxed. Overall, the whole process was transparent and professional
