I was cold called by the CTO for a Software Development position. We had a 30 minute Zoom interview which was pretty standard. He had sent me a document describing their company's product and mission, which I reviewed prior.
During the interview, he asked me pretty standard questions such as:
- Tell me about yourself
- What about your current position is causing you to seek a change
- What's the most interesting technical challenge you've worked on recently
I asked him a few questions about GovWell and their product, company culture, etc. He said that he'd get back to me within the next few days about next steps. The next day I received an email informing me that they had decided not to proceed with me as a candidate, and that due to "bandwith constraints", they were unable to provide individualized feedback at this time.
Overall, it was a pretty lame, pointless experience. I wish them all the best and encourage companies to provide feedback to candidates.
