Several years back, Global LT invited me in for a panel interview. It lasted an hour, the questions didn't surprise me, and I thought I was a shoo-in. I never heard back.
Still, against my better judgement, I went in for an interview for a key management position a few months back. At least according to the details discussed during the phone interview, this role was a perfect match for a linguist/educator, a role to which I'm looking to return after having spent several years working in the Tech industry. I was abundantly qualified for and enthusiastic about the job. I took the day off work to attend the interview. Much to my dismay, the interview turned into a two-hour, unstructured, one-on-one session that involved my interviewer basically sharing her concerns with the changes the company is undergoing--and the challenges she was facing with her teams. Yes, she did ask me about my background and about my opinion of the framework and methodology their company has subscribed to, but mostly she asked me what I would do about lasting and serious problems that seem to have taken hold in multiple departments and levels of the company. I answered, when I could get a word in. After two hours of this, the interview ended with no indication of my interviewer's thoughts or intentions. I wrote HR and my interviewer to thank them for their time and for the opportunity to meet with them and learn more about, etc.... I never got a response from either of them. Don't waste your days off. This company offers cultural training. I think they could use some of their own.
