I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Gilead Sciences (Oceanside, CA) in Apr 2015
Interview
They flew me to CA, They made me go through 13 individual one-on-one interviews taking an entire day. About half went good and half went not so perfect. They never gave me a reason why they did not extend an offer. And truthfully, it did not seem like a good place to work.
In the beginning, I kept asking for more details about the position, but it seemed like they wanted to hold all the cards and leave me hanging, they basically wanted someone to come and do anything and everything, I am sure it would have been difficult.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Gilead Sciences (Foster City, CA) in Mar 2025
Interview
A recruiter reached out to me via email. I scheduled for an interview. The day came and time passed. I waited thinking this is a mistake. But no it was not. She was late 15 minutes. I emailed her and when she did appear, she told me she was in the middle of firing someone. She brought that energy into the interview and rushed the entire process. It was so short and she essentially ended the interview by saying if there's no further questions then it was nice meeting you. But I had to stop her and ask a few questions. Even still it was really rushed.. Not a good experience from the company. I asked for feedback after the interview and she said it went well the only reservation was about the pay. I stated a pay that was well within the original job posting. She said she'll get back to me and she never did. Emailed for a follow up and she ghosted me.

Question 1
She just asked what it is that I currently do at my position. And if I had qPCR experience. That's it, that's the main bulk of what she asked. The others are just logistics like how long I've been working, but that's already in my resume.

I was ghosted by Gilead after the onsite interview. Never heard back from them.
From initial apply to the first HR screen took about a month, after the hiring manager interview was asked to come onsite for a panel interview and presentation. Overall time from application to in person was 2 months. Gilead starts their day at 8 AM and was onsite till 2PM, I interviewed with 6 different people in 1:1s throughout the day. Both before and after presentation.
Was ghosted after the on site interview and never heard back from them despite emailing both the Human Resources Contact and the Hiring Manager for the position. Despite hearing about this sort of thing happening in industry I have never been ghosted by a potential employer this late in the process.
