I applied online. I interviewed at Fairfax Financial Holdings (Manchester, NH) in Dec 2023
Interview
I went through a multi stage virtual interview process, it included phone interviews and video interviews and panel interviews. The process was disorganized, bumbling and inflexible. I was forced to do some interviews with only a few hours notice, this caused a severe strain. They went with a candidate that they had already spoken to before. The process was disorganized, one person who interviewed me would say my duties would be A,B,C, another person would say they would be D,E,F. Even after the process concluded, I was never sure what job I was interviewing for. The job posting itself was inaccurate and I was asked mostly about my experience doing things that were not on the posting. When I was rejected for the job, I was told that I lacked experience doing things that weren’t even listed on the posting. Thus the whole process was a waste of time and PTO. The worst part was the HR rep I dealt with, they implied to me that I was being considered for two positions by management, when I followed up on this, they apologized and told me infact that I was not.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What is your experience doing x: (X being a skill that was unmentioned on the job posting)
It was a really chill process. Just asked some design technical questions and information on past projects. Asked me about my past co-op experiences as well. Some design questions were based off of my past projects

If you were to go back, how would you change your design? (refers to one of my specific projects)
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Fairfax Financial Holdings (Kuala Lumpur) in Jun 2017
Interview
The entire interview process is not stressful and brings me a lot of outcomes. There were two interviewers who were HR representative and Head of Internal Audit. They were so helpful and friendly. They shared a lot of experience and their industrial insights. I love the company for everything and also the people there. They offered me and I had a tough time struggling with the offer because their benefit is far more great than other companies in insurance industry and of course I am sure that I will be trained well for the job because the head is a very nice person. He is a kind of person who is willing to train people well. The HR is the best HR that I have ever met. They mentioned that their company emphasizes work life balance and this creates a lovely working environment. This is exactly what I want but after giving a deep thought, I know that I may want to continue my actuarial career and finally rejected the offer. However for sure, this is one of the good companies in my future wishlist.
