      Anonymous employee
      Glasgow, Scotland
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at FDM Group (Glasgow, Scotland) in Jul 2016

      Interview

I was contacted by a FDM recruiter who claimed she had came across my CV online and wanted to see if I was interested. As for the interview process, it was pretty straightforward - talking casually on the phone counted as a telephone interview which was kinda weird since it was so casual. Then I had a video interview which is fairly easy too its just four basic questions including one competency based question. A day or two after I had received a call from the same recruiter telling me I passed the interview. I was then booked into attending an assessment day. This involved a tour and a brief presentation of the company and history followed by 3 tests - numerical (harder than I thought but not awful), IT (I don't know much about IT but if you do it should be fine) and a Venn Diagram test (was okay but you need to practice beforehand). After this, its a series of 3 very short interviews. Some interviewers were not too bothered about your answers and some interviewers were friendly. Each asks the candidates the same thing and often questions were repeated (e.g. what values of FDM suit you?). The atmosphere of the assessment day was nice the building was lovely and my fellow candidates were all very friendly. I received a call next day saying I was successful with some feedback of the tests and interviews. The contract of FDM is one you really need to questions and ask yourself if it suits you - I'm still working this out for myself.

      Question 1

Can't remember all but here's some I do: Video - Why FDM? - Tell us about a time you were flexible? - Why IT? Assessment Day? - Tell us about your degree - Apple or Android? - What values of the FDM suit you and why? (2x) - Would you sacrifice the quality of work to meet a deadline? - Why do you want to work in IT? - What part of IT interests you and why? - Tell us something you read recently in IT that interests you?
