Coming to My experience :
I've applied for BDM role, even though I'm from a sound technical background, I chose BDM because I am much more interested in dealing with people and managing activities and I found it
interesting.
At first, I wasn't much confident about the written exam. As many others are good with aptitude and reasoning. Despite the huge competition, I got shortlisted for the next round, because
almost all the questions asked were from Indiabix.com website. If you have solved or at least had a glance at those, you can easily crack the exam.
The day after tomorrow I've joined other members for the Personal Interview. I was confident that I am well fit for that job and I can easily crack that round. I've entered the panel with
huge anxiety and confidence. I was interviewed by three of evibe members. Two BDMs and CEO/COO Swathi Bavanaka. She started asking questions.
Here comes the interesting story..
I don't know what other two panel members were doing. Whatever she asks/ she says, they keep on nodding their heads. In between, they tried to ask some questions. but somehow she dominated
them and asked irrelevant questions.
They don't bother about whether the person is capable of doing that job or not.
I was interview for more than 20 mins and I've been through a lot. I should not say, but I was vexed with her questions and what she does is keep on asking the same question again and
again until you say "Sorry, I don't know". You should not oppose her / give a counter to her. And she can't tolerate if you say "you're wrong." I still can't figure out what other two were
doing until the end. All they do is the interruption and ask questions which are asked by her earlier.
I felt like, "am I fit for this ? Should I reject it myself? I wanted to leave right now." but waited until the end. I know asking the questions repetitively is a sign of testing patience.
But, I didn't find it the same way. At last, I came out and went straight to drink water and settled down myself after huge destruction inside.
I waited for three hours, just to make sure that my name wasn't shortlisted for the further round.
Thank god, Thanks evibe for rejecting me. Even if I got the job I would have rejected there itself. I saw that burden on the faces of other two employees. What you said during the pre-
placement talk varies in real life scenario. you are not the same. I observed everything in a short span of 20-30 minutes. I've imagined my situation if I join there.
My suggestion to team evibe
You are running a startup. Not an MNC. It is okay to run with craps in an MNC. Your thoughts and goals are on the rooftop. But, you still prefer to choose someone who will not utter a word even though if you ask them to do room service. If your thoughts are high, you've to select someone challenging. someone who's opposing, someone who is risk-taking and moreover "someone who will not change his/her decision even though the whole team tries to manipulate." That's what a BDM is. Not someone who obeys whatever you says. Maybe the role I was interviewed is not
for BDM or you mistook some other role to BDM as it sounds good.
