I recently had a very disappointing interview experience with DHL via Encora. Despite clearly mentioning that my core skill set includes Java, Selenium, and Appium (with over 5 years of experience in mobile automation), the interviewer focused heavily on web-related questions. I did my best to answer them, even though they were outside my primary area of expertise.
At one point, I was asked how to automate CAPTCHA. I explained that CAPTCHAs are specifically designed to prevent automation, and in most real-world scenarios (like UAT), they are disabled for testing purposes. However, the interviewer seemed unsatisfied with this response.
Later, when I was asked about challenges I’ve faced, I began sharing my experiences related to mobile automation. But while I was speaking, the interviewer abruptly left the meeting without any explanation. I initially assumed it was a technical issue and waited over 10 minutes, but he never rejoined.
I also tried reaching out to the Encora HR contact for clarification, but have yet to receive any response. Frankly, I found this lack of communication and professionalism quite discouraging.
Every candidate deserves respect and clear communication, especially when they’ve taken the time to attend an interview. Even a simple message or acknowledgment would have made a difference.
