      Inbound Sales Executive (Remote) Interview

      28 Jan 2022
      Anonymous employee
      Madrid
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Cloudbeds (Madrid) in Jan 2022

      Interview

The interview process consisted on 2 different parts, one first where I uploaded my CV, answered a few really interesting questions, filled in my Cover Letter and completed two different tests, one for my english capacities and another one for my cognitive skills. Then I had 3 different short interviews, very casual and friendly with different members of the recruitment and sales teams.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Previous experience? Practical case: how would you sell the tool to a potential prospect? What's in it that makes it different to everyone else? Practical case: Describe how would you pitch your portfolio and Revenue Management services to a prospect.

      Anonymous interview candidate
      Dallas, TX
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Cloudbeds (Dallas, TX) in Feb 2022

      Interview

It was somewhat extensive. I thought it would be easy and quick since I own a hostel and have been using Cloudbeds for 3 years. I figured since I am familiar with the product it would make potential clients more inclined to buy from me. I applied and took two tests. One was a personality test which showed that I am a "Hunter" and another one was a skills test. The latter gave me several technical issues while I was taking it. I was kicked off and it allowed me to re-enter but I don't think the time stopped. Therefore, I didn't finish the test and was left feeling quite anxious. Nevertheless, I was contacted by email to do an interview with the recruiter. She was very pleasant and agreed that I had relevant job experience. I was invited for another interview with whom would be my direct supervisor if hired for the position. He also seemed really pleased with me but stated that I need to expand more on my keen sales abilities when on my third interview with the director. I had the third meeting with the director who did not describe this as an interview but instead used the term "Meet & Greet" which totally relaxed my state of mind. She only had a few questions and allowed me to talk about my capabilities. I was expecting a more structured interview and was caught totally off guard. I didn't know what more to say so I just started talking about how I enjoy taking a consultative approach to selling THIS IS A BIG NO NO. She wanted to hear me talk about being a sales shark. I'm pretty sure that is why I didn't get the job. I just wish I didn't waist almost 2 months putting only Cloudbed eggs in my basket. I felt compelled to wait since on my first interview the recruiter asked me if I was considering any other jobs and I told her no. I am a person of my word so I held out until I finally got the rejection email. I'm only writing this review because Glassdoor is making me write it in order to have access to Expedia reviews. I have an interview with them for a business development position where a consultative approach is encouraged in order to foster and grow relationships with existing partners. To all of you who didn't receive an offer, use it as a learning experience. Sometimes not getting the job helps you re-evaluate what job is really best for you. Don't give up on your dream of being happy with what you do for a living.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

3rd interview from the director: How would you respond to a hotel owner who is getting less business than their peers and is looking for a solution ?
