Was contacted by recruiter on LinkedIn to schedule a phone chat about available role. Pretty straight forward conversation about my background, my current role, and they went into details about the open role, the team, and the company. Three weeks after, scheduled to meet the HR Director. Also a general conversation about my background, skills, and current role. Got the opportunity to ask more questions. Four weeks after, scheduled to meet with the Director of Supply Chain, who I’d be reporting into. More technical conversation and more specifics about my fit for the role and company. Was able to ask more specific questions about the person (future goals etc) and expectations. The following day the recruiter reached out to schedule a meeting with the VP. The meeting was heavy on my background and fit for the role. Was able to ask high level and long term questions about the direction of the team under their leadership. Scheduled for two additional interviews with merchandising counterparts three days after. The SVP and Senior Director were both very welcoming and easy going; they just wanted to get a sense of how I work with others. The point of this interview was to add another layer, especially that the role would be working closely with these teams. Surprised by an additional meeting with hiring manager because they thought we didn’t have enough time the first time. Rehashed our first conversation, basically. They were a bit confused as to my last role until I clarified, despite it being stated clearly in my resume. Before ending the call I asked about next steps and they mentioned this was the last, they just needed to circle back with the other teams to make a decision. I was surprised to be scheduled for a second interview with the VP. The reason being that we didn’t have enough time the last time. There was a focus on collaboration, excel, process, systems, day-to-day activities. Two weeks after I spoke to the recruiter about them going with another candidate. Overall the process was fine, it just a lot of time in between rounds.
