This was a 5 step process that started off with a recruiter screening and a manager discussion. The manager did not seem too eager to learn about me or my background, as I felt like just another candidate. I then spoke with the product security lead who went through a generic testing scenario.
Next, I met with a “stakeholder” who was just a lead software engineer who seemed to be phishing for potentially test cases on their system. I got a weird vibe when he wanted me to deep dive into how I would test their system, but I happily agreed because I believe in their mission. My last call was with someone on a separate team who was gauging my culture fit. Unfortunately, I was ghosted for over a month before being denied and they never filled the position.
