I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Allstate (New York, NY) in Mar 2011
Interview
Interviewing for a Field Adjuster position is mind numbing and frustrating.
They make you write an estimate by hand out of the Motors book; even though you inform them that you've never written an estimate by hand, and that you only have experience with the prominent estimating computerized software's.
They do this to break you down and make you think that you done know as much about the industry as you think you know.
They do this so that they can severely low-ball your starting salary offer. They promise that the starting salary is just a "Training" salary and they there's more money when your no longer a trainee.
Problem is.. they maintain this unofficial "Trainee" title for almost a year. with a 3% raise after that if your lucky.

Interview
There was phone a interview which is very easy, then had to take an automated personality assessment test and that was not hard but does take some time so allow about an hour out of your time to take it, next was the interview with 3 managers and that was a little hard just because the questions they ask are more personality questions or hypothetical questions and now I am going to take my skills assessment test.
