My initial call was with a recruiter who was punctual, informative, and supportive. I went on to interview with a Hiring Manager that night, but unfortunately did not go well as she immediately seemed unimpressed and uninterested in my answers. When it was my turn to ask questions, I queried about the structure of the team that would be directly managed by this role and was told she doesn't "see why that is relevant at this point in the process." For a people management role, I found this to be confusing. Other answers to questions were brief and uninformative. I walked away feeling that the Hiring Manager thought that speaking with me was a waste of her time, and received a rejection as expected. Unfortunate. Would rather have not been interviewed.
