I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Aeolus Robotics (Wrocław) in Aug 2019
Interview
1. Short talk with a person from HR 2. Test of programming skills - 4 hours, quite hard in general 3. 1-hour talk with a technical person After that I was basically accepted and I had not heard from them for ~3 months. After that time, they reached out to me telling that they cannot hire me in the end, they did not mention any specific reason.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
1. Questions about previous (current) work 2. Questions about robotics technics used in the development 3. C++ programming - smart pointers
Dear candidate,
thank you for your feedback. We are continuously working on improving our recruitment process for it to be more efficient and shorter. We will pass your case to the senior management in our organization to avoid such situation in the future.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 9 months. I interviewed at Aeolus Robotics in Apr 2018
Interview
I've been invited to the interview process.
Process took 9 months. (yes)
They lost my answers to emails multiple times, and asked again.
No clear or public hiring process, even if asked for specifically.
They always give you just one more task, the next one.
No single point of contact. There's always a new person on the other end, and you have to tell them everything from scratch, but it does not matter, in 3 weeks there will be a new contact again.
Online Coding challenge (Codility) 4 challenges 4 (or 6?) hours, reasonable difficulty.
There is a "whole day at job simulation" that takes 8+ hours, involves github, and you have to solve a problem, then enhance it further.
They said they will pay $250 for the whole day test. Although that is not much, they did not even pay, so that was a lie unfortunately.
3 online interviews, 30min each.
They won't tell you the real reason behind the refusal, just some unversal random answer.
They did not even ask feedback about the hiring process, that's why I'm here.
They changed the job description while the process was going on, and added a new requirement. Nice gesture though.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
What were your previous robotics endeavors, and what did you do there?
We improved the payment process and it works smoothly now. All delayed payments have been processed. I am sorry that you didn't like our process. We try our best to treat our candidates well and I am pretty sure we are doing that now. We are trying to send the most valuable feedback as we can. Please contact us by e-mail as I would like to talk with you per phone and give a comprehensive feedback if you did not get one. 9 months long process is really not a typical thing here at Aeolus, typically it takes up to 6 weeks now, which is still long but we are working on further improvements. It happens sometimes (but not often) that we decide to change requirements. But if we do that we have a serious business reasons for that.
