What is health insurance like at Sanofi?

Pros

This is a large, multi-national company with lots of investment and fast-changing portflio, which allows for participation in multiple different projects. Career prospects are great - if not within the department, within the company there are multiple opportunities to progress. There is also a generous continuous education allowance, which allows one to study towards a selected degree while working. The company invests in the wellbeing of the employees, there is a staff canteen, coffee dock and gym on site, good health insurance and pension benefits, free parking.

Cons

As in many large places, the employee satisfaction depends largely on the direct management - with good leaders the work is great, with bad leaders it can become a nightmare. I personally have had a good experience, but in some departments the staff turn around is quick because it's not as great. There is not much R&D involved in the fill-finish site I work on, so career progression in scientific research is limited. Career progression within the own department is also limited.

Advice to Management

Focus more on the positive feedback - people work hard to deliver goals, most of the time nobody aknowledges that it has been noticed.

Does Sanofi offer sponsored degrees?

Pros

401k Flexible work arrangements Good soft benefits

Cons

Low yearly salary increases for exceeding individual goals No recognition for absorbing the work of lost head count Negative changes to tuition reimbursement Post jobs internally/externally knowing the candidate has already been identified Lower management lacks skills to empower employees Upper management out of touch with the struggles of the business and only see head count numbers. Falling in Pharma rank Many lower end employees actually take on second jobs to supplement income, which is sad.

Advice to Management

HR needs to look at the experience of the team members, actual description of their job (correct description should be retained) and adjust accordingly to stay competitive.

What is the retirement plan like at Sanofi?

Pros

Great benefits package - amazing 401K match (150%), great health plan coverage, company shutdown over the winter holidays

Cons

No work life balance - constantly expected to work 10+ hours per day. Travel time is not considered when determining work hours (i.e. travel time is in addition to working time). Leadership is solely focused on quantity over quality. Feedback falls on deaf ears.

Does Sanofi have a pension plan?

Pros

Good pay, health cover, pension, great cameraderie amongst co-workers and immediate team leaders.

Cons

Unrealistic expectations. Too few staff which mean some staff end up working 16 hour days to meet targets. The last time I checked that was against the law. Aggressive mercenary style management who stay for two or three years, bully everyone and then leave for another company with more experience added to their CV. Lots of miserable employees tied to the company by the golden handcuffs of the pay and benefits. You would be better off working somewhere else that is less stressful for less money. Note to any new college graduate: Start working somewhere else when you finish college as this place would put you off working for life. Find somewhere where you can utilise your creative talents rather than be worked to the bone in order to line the pockets of rich shareholders.

Advice to Management

Treat people with a bit more respect.
