Does Lush offer massages?

Pros

- 50% off product - £20RRP monthly staff allowance - free fruit in staff room - very diverse and generally lovely team

Cons

The cons are that they are using the above pros instead of paying staff for the job, they are expected to do (beyond the job description). A couple of the managers have created an atmosphere of making staff turn against each other in order to feel accomplished. Very gossipy atmosphere, which is not unusual for retail, but is very heightened in the Oxford Street store. No incentive to work. For an ethical brand, this store is not run ethically. No career progression. Everything and everyone there feels temporary.

Advice to Management

Listen to people who have been there the longest and stop creating a company culture that requires staff to compete against each other in order to get praise.

Does Lush offer employee discounts?

Pros

Great pay and employee benefits like 50% discount, special treats at Christmas, free spa treatment as part of your training, lovely shop floor team members

Cons

Nottingham store has a very cliquey management, no room for progression as they have had the same "trainee" managers for years and the boss Rebecca chooses who she likes to be supervisors. For example e despite voting on who the supervising team think is best overall. As a family unit are within management this also doesn't help. Compared to other stores like Derby or Trafford where they push you to do many things and help you reach goals and expand within the company, here, if your face doesn't fit it isn't for you. Mental health of a lot of staff not great, usually a very friendly atmosphere but be prepared you absolutely have to be able to be confident and speak to people to enjoy and be good at the sales side of the job.

Advice to Management

Not be so snide, better mental health support, more chance to grow for team members, a more diverse and equal interview process rather than discussing who is "liked" and not who is good at the job. don't save time off for management only events and not let other staff take that time off even though nobody is booked on.
