Does Hostelworld Group have a pension plan?

Pros

Working for travel is great. Very friendly employees and much improved camaraderie between offices since everyone started working online. It's no surprise that many marriages, children and lifelong friendships have been made here. Company has adapted swiftly to become a remote working business; very modern that way. CEO clearly works very hard. Some very dedicated people still left in the company. Tech debt is finally being reduced. And some innovative tech investments. Lots of opportunity to learn and move sideways into different roles, plus there's an internal "mentoring" programme. Health insurance, pension, share opportunities. There's an enthusiastic and smart Diversity and Inclusion team.

Cons

Product head is an extreme micromanager. Marketing head is only interested in numbers and is non-communicative. Analytics head not a people person. There's plenty of potential but they keep working their dwindling staff to exhaustion, expecting people to pick up the slack for their teammates who have either quit or been let go. Lots of brilliant employees have been lost that way. Sometimes upper management get different rules than the rest of staff, eg flexibility for working overseas. Company as a whole is still stuck somewhere uncomfortably between start-up and corporation. Not a lot of opportunity to move upwards.

Advice to Management

Lots of your employees are devoted to travel and the Hostelworld ethos. Please don't drive them out. More women in upper management and in Porto, please.

Health insurance, pension, share opportunities.

Pros

The people at this company are really fun, friendly and supportive. The atmosphere whilst I worked there was fun and laid back. People eat lunch together and hang out on Friday evenings which is really nice.
