What is health insurance like at Distilled?

Pros

Distilled SCH is truly an amazing company to work for and it's no wonder that the company ranks Top 5 on Great Places to Work and has been named on The Best Workplaces in Tech List 2021. Theres a huge list of benefits that help each of us to grow in our careers; competitive salary, career development, pension and health insurance plans, a focus on health and wellness, a corporate social responsibility strategy that allows employees to give back to their local communities aswell as many social events organised by our events committee, the Distillers. It doesn't stop there and the list goes on, recently the leadership team gifted all employees an extra 5 days annual leave in August and the company closed every Friday. This was to thank us for all of our hard work and to allow us some extra time to spend with our families. I work within the customer service and I absolutely love it! Having worked for other company's and within customer service for over 15 years I can safely say there is something very special and unique about how this team work together. Our customer service team provides fast, reliable & personal support to our users. We listen & we put our customers at the centre of everything that we do. We collaborate with other teams to ensure a market leading experience when products, services & solutions are delivered.

Does Distilled offer healthcare cash plans?

Pros

Just to note the company is making new employees write reviews. The high score the company has currently is manipulated by HR - Some really decent people work there with great work ethic but most are not in managerial roles - HR were fantastic in dealing with covid fears and worries - Good extras (health insurance, pension )

Cons

- The wrong people getting promoted - Complete disconnect with what product are developing vs what the customers want - Leadership changing long term and short term goals constantly - Inflation of how the company keep 'smashing targets' when in reality they are just increasing the prices on customers every chance they get. - Most of people in managerial roles have little to no knowledge of the product while taking credit for their teams work - Constant re-organization of roles/departments. The leadership team like to give out new role titles for themselves and managers while most of the lower level employees are required to take on many responsibilities to no praise/reward

Does Distilled offer unlimited holiday?

Pros

The company really puts effort into making their employees life better. There's no crunch, there's no extra hours (unless something really bad happened), they give to you all tools that you need, their are willing to let each one of its employees choose what is best from returning to the offices in the near future, and I can't put enough credit to HR. Usually I don't trust HRs, they're basically a safety measure between employer and employee but not in Distilled. They're in there to be sure that we have the best time possible as employees, brining mental health seminars, how to cope with life while WFH, they promote a lot of events and try their best to make sure that everyone feels that they're an important piece of the company.

Cons

There are some organisation issues here and there. Sometimes you feel a little bit left out of scope in some teams and since it's a relative small company for an engineering perspective, I don't see too much space for trying different approaches or roles.

Advice to Management

I'd pay a little bit extra attention to teams, not their performance but why they're not holding it's employees for longer anymore.
