How is management perceived at Dún Laoghaire County Council?

Pros

Great summer job Had an AED and beach wheelchair on site

Cons

No specific lifeguard supervisor, manager was also over bins and possibly parks. Bin men were the ones who checked on lifeguards regularly. No mangers were lifeguards or had an understanding of water safety Left without radios (walkie talkies) for the entire season No rescue board for the first month. Issues with correct payments towards end of season Unclear of who to call when there was an issue Beach wheelchair on site in Killiney going into bad repair and couldn't be used on the stones

Advice to Management

Should have a separate supervisor for beaches to check on lifeguards, rotas and equipments, provide mid season training, support after incidents and help out when needed at the scene. Pay more, lowest pay in the country for beach lifeguards on some of the busiest beaches (seapoint)
