Why do Cisco employees quit?

Pros

Talented people, (mostly) great leadership.

Cons

Many amazing years there but the last one (in a specific BU) was a nightmare - very poor leadership. The severance package was generous but the layoffs could have been handled much better. (It's not a good look telling employees that there would be no layoffs in an all hands call and then announcing a massive reduction on an investor call just a few days later!)

Advice to Management

I know that leadership cares and did everything they could to minimize the impact of layoffs - but as an employee I'd rather you just told it like it is.

What is the feeling of job security at Cisco?

Pros

Very stable, great benefits (especially ESPP), and minimal layoffs compared to most other tech companies

Cons

A bit slow at times, and realistically slow grow and minimal career opportunities given job market in terms of "Career Pivoting." A bit odd to be in this space as an early in career person.
