How are the career development opportunities at Analytic Partners?

Pros

Great people and benefits you learn a lot on the job and has some great opportunities! I received a lot of help from my team and had a good amount of resources to get me started

Cons

The work life balance was difficult. I didn’t have much else time to do anything else. Take time off but not too much time off. Difficult expectations at times.

How are promotions handled at Analytic Partners?

Pros

- The people are fantastic. Everyone I've had the pleasure to work with is smart, hard working, and kind. I look forward to meetings with my team. - Company has grown steadily for years and continued to do well despite the disruptions of the past year+, which points to an even bright future ahead. - The work is interesting and the clients are top-notch. I feel confident in my team and the organization's success as a whole.

Cons

- Senior leadership is centralized in a single office, which has created a disconnect. Can feel like decisions are being handed down from an ivory tower without regard to the day-to-day realities for most employees (particularly during the pandemic). - Company is slow to offer growth and promotion opportunities for employees, which has led to the loss of some top talent. Changes are in progress, but it seems like an uphill battle.

Advice to Management

- Continue to listen and take action based on employee feedback - Trust the people you've hired to do great work and reward them when they do. Look at other tech companies in the space and consider what else we need to remain competitive for both current employees and prospective talent.

How do employees feel about their professional development opportunities at Analytic Partners?

Pros

Generally, I have positive feelings about AP. I work with good colleagues in a growing company with an employee equity plan in an industry that is growing. I feel I have made the right career choice for me. My feeling is that there aren't any analytics competitors to AP that I would consider joining. I feel like I am still learning and that opportunities come up to keep up with my plans for my career.

Cons

AP has been flexible during the covid pandemic and flexible about the return to the office, but it still has been a difficult time for me and many of my colleagues. AP has continued to grow and added customers during the pandemic. I have felt overwhelmed at times and working remotely left me without the benefits of being around colleagues. During covid, Human Resources has added a large quantity of procedures and mandatory trainings making the workload worse. The external consultant run Diversity training felt too long and not specific to AP. There are too many programs and committees that do not produce any benefits to anyone in the company.

Advice to Management

More committees and more meetings don't equal more engagement.

What is the feeling of job security at Analytic Partners?

Pros

-You get to work on projects with a lot of cool clients & get exposed to different industries. -The work itself (MMM) is quite interesting and captivating. -If you have the time & the skills to understand how the software works + if you have a good statistical/mathematical knowledge of multilinear regressions, the actual modeling process can be quite compelling. -Clients typically have high level of trust in AP's recommendations and results. It's very rewarding to see clients' incorporating our recommendations/feedback & improving their own business, year over year. -Job security.

Cons

-Lack of promotions. Lack of recognition for the insane amount of work done by Analysts and Sr. Analysts & their above and beyond contributions (especially during Covid). Promotion cycle/reviews have been moved from twice a year to annual - aka you will do the work of the position one step above you for at least a year, without getting additional pay or title change, before getting the promotion. No set standards for what constitutes readiness for next level- all dependent on the perception of your manager. -Non-existent work-life balance. Be ready to work 70hr weeks without the compensation of bigger consulting companies. High turnover at this level - people get burnt out after consistently working 60hr weeks & weekends. -Complete inability of management to plan out resourcing. The lack of any semblance of work-life balance is discussed and complained about constantly, yet there have been no improvement. Additionally, higher mgmt will put a goal of improving efficiency without any concrete steps on how to get there. So, instead of getting a bit more breathing room due to increased efficiency, you receive an extra 10-20% workload to be completed within the same timeframe. Late nights and weekend work is a norm. -Lack of transparency from higher mgmt. How projects are staffed, who receives what clients, how many hours you are slated to work, even what the scope of the project is(!) etc is completely unknown. -Proprietary software is useless for transferring your skills to other jobs. Make sure to be learning coding languages and advanced statistics on your own during this job. -Lack of formalized training. It is well-known and talked about that you will not "fully know what you're doing" for at least 1-2 years after starting your job with AP - an unnecessarily high learning curve. All training is "hands-on", with minimal help/direction, while getting scolded for making any learning mistakes. Not a favorable environment to learn new & complicated processes at all.

Advice to Management

-Formalize training - it shouldn't take new analysts 1-2 years to understand how to do their jobs. -Resource management. We're constantly hitting our revenue marks at the expense of Sr. Analysts & below - hire more people. 60hr weeks should be an anomaly not regularity. -360 manager reviews. Managers desperately need to hear feedback & improve on their performance.
