How is management perceived at Allied Irish Bank (GB)?
Pros
Some very talented people, quite flexible, decent-ish pension, private heaIth cover
Cons
Oh lots - pay is appalling and progression prospects are dreadful due to a recent restructure of the career model, the sole purpose of which was to reduce costs, despite paper thin declarations denying this. It is possible to get a pay rise but only via the back door- they claim transparency but practice the opposite. Any hint of attempting a discussion on pay is met with comments such as 'if you don't like it, leave' from the most senior of management. Therefore there is zero incentive to go the extra mile, it has no impact on reputation, compensation or opportunity. Culture has been decimated by new management in a short period of time, despite the best efforts of others. Unwilling or unable to improve systems and processes. Complete inability to manage underperformance like nowhere else I've ever worked. Some difficult personalities in key leadership positions who have no business being anything but technical specialists
