Former Employee - Tutor

I worked at TBG Learning full-time for more than a year

Pros

Was flexible for staff working hours

Cons

Deserved to close, poor service

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

I have been working at AVADO full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Great colleagues who are friendly and supportive Opportunity to have a real impact Flexible working

Cons

Regular restructuring Currently restructuring with significant numbers of redundancies planned No pay rises 10 per cent pay cut imposed on all employees recently Many staff reduced to part time... working patterns to save the business money Lack of business continuity planning Poor financial management

Advice to Management

Better financial planning would be advisable going forward as staff have had to pay the cost for the recent financial difficulties by having a 10% pay cut imposed and also having their hours reduced... by 20 per cent. A 30 per cent pay cut is quite significant a particularly as many of us have never had a pay rise since working here. It may be a good idea to have a clear pay policy that includes the different pay grades to aid greater transparency and decision making.
