I enjoyed teaching courses with Erasmus students in an international environment and a diversity of backgrounds, life experience and academic disciplines. They appreciated participatory teaching... methods. I also gained valuable knowledge from the Teaching Training offered to academic staff by the advanced studies center of the university.
The payment for teaching a course is completely disproportionate to the amount of time, energy and expertise invested. It's great for gaining more teaching experience but it's nearly impossible to... make a living from teaching only. Much depends on the Lehrbereich you are affiliated with (I was extremely lucky!)
