Current Employee - Senior Software Engineer

I have been working at Evernote full-time for more than a year

Pros

* Highly collaborative, transparent leadership (after 2018 changes) * Company regularly recognizes and promotes strong contributors * Relatively high concentration of knowledgeable, skilled... developers * Opportunities to contribute cross-functionally (few "stay in your lane" attitudes) * Strong brand and passionate user base means your work will be recognized and have impact Shortly after I joined, I was considering quitting. Luckily the much-needed leadership changes in 2018 have set the company back on the path of improvement.

Cons

* Relatively small development team to support such a huge user base and brand * Lots of tech debt and historical decisions to work through * The drastic (bold?) technical/product decisions in the... works haven't been tangibly proven in the market yet; TBD

Current Employee - Customer Success

I have been working at Square full-time for more than a year

Pros

- Dynamic team--everyone in the office is incredibly hardworking and talented - Better than average pay and benefits for local job market - Great opportunities to take ownership in an entry-level... role - Quickly growing market means there's lots of room for growth, progression, and cross-functional exposure - Transparent company culture

Cons

- Sometimes daily work can feel distant from the product and mission since Square is not available in Ireland yet - The primary office locations in the US means there can be some time delays for... cross-functional work (this is improving though!)
