What does a Consulting Engineer do?
Consulting engineers provide expertise and leadership during the planning, modification, or rehabilitation of public and private infrastructure projects. They serve their clients through the entire process from preliminary surveys and analysis through the final design and construction. They are registered professionals who practice in many engineering disciplines and design various construction and renovation projects, including bridges, water purification plants, or prisons.
Consulting engineers solve environmental and ecological problems, provide subject matter expertise to all their clients for engineering activities, and evaluate the subsystem components’ design. They participate in design review meetings and, with engineering departments, analyze all engineering procedures for efficient implementation, and closely monitor them. They manage physical and technological processes within the required time frame and maintain knowledge of the technology necessary to resolve engineering issues. Consulting engineers need a bachelor's degree and engineering or related fields.
- Consult with product teams in support of security escalations/tickets.
- Actively involved in technical solving opportunities and assigned to meaningful projects that align to your skill set.
- Interface with the client's product teams, Legal, PR/Communications, upper management, etc. as required.
- Monitor and control infrastructure performance in the areas of response, throughput, and availability.
- Test LAN/WAN communications and routing products: implement test plans, evaluate test equipment and design test networks, and aid in the development of automated test suites.
- Cloud Offer penetration test, security consulting, assessment, hardening, compliance, and operational security support.
- Lead and deliver wireless engagements in the following areas: validation survey, design surveys, troubleshooting, configuration and implementation.
- Assist in designing servers and networks: analyze business needs and recommend solutions.
- Identify and troubleshoot hardware and software technical problems related to LANs/WANs.
- Manage time and expense to meet or exceed expectations defined in the Statement of Work.
- Provide high quality content deliverables using the appropriate document templates.
- Ensure solution is implemented as designed to the customers satisfaction and approval.
- Bachelor's Degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, engineering or information systems.
- Experience with Cloud, Linux, UNIX, JAVA, R Language, and CCNP processes and systems.
- Experience with Python, CCIE, EO/IR, and Sdwan systems and software.
- A leader, critical thinker, and problem solver.
- Comfortable working with writing protocols and relational databases.
- Prior experience as a consultant.
- Comfortable scripting and running operating systems.
