Compensation includes all federal and state holidays. New years day, MLK day, Memorial day, Independence day, Labor day, election day, Veterans day, thanksgiving day and Christmas day.

Plenty of PTO, opportunity for pension, family deductible is $5,000 a year and the hsa contributions are only $2,200 a year

Best - pension plan, affordable health coverage. Worst - you cannot use vacation days for 6 months.

The health insurance was better at one time. A pension is still a pension and will always be better than a 401K security wise.

Paid time off is great. Pay is unbelievably low. A single person cannot work for the State and afford the basic necessities. A single parent will have to be on assistance to make ends meet.

The paid time off is excellent and plentiful. The only thing that needs improvement is the health insurance. Your options are to have an insane deductible or give up half your paycheck and still pay a kind of high deductible.
