Since the position is generally seasonal, vacation and time off are available outside the busy season, but they are all unpaid. Some franchises offer employee discounts on tax returns that employees prepare for their household or family members. Generally the only benefits provided are the ones required by state or federal law, with the exception of job training. Job training does not require any tuition, but the employee or trainee pays the cost of the textbook. No disability insurance is provided outside worker's compensation benefits.
