Annual leave allowance is not in line with competitors, and they also pick and choose who they give more days to
Company introduced duvet days but time off usually needs to be requested many weeks or even months in advance. No time off during peak season. Hard to swap shifts for language speakers due to low coverage.
21 days a year with an extra day for each year of service.
- You can select the days you want off in the company intranet and see when it has been approved. You can also see if the days you have chosen overlap with anyone else on your team.
It is quite difficult to get vacation time during the peak season (summer period), so you have to book it a long time in advance.
You need to fight for it
Oh holidays, think you would get any? thats a joke. In my 8 months at the company I got 1 day off (yes that is correct 1 day!) and that took 3 weeks to approve and I had to fight with nails and claws to even get it. I had a family emergency at home and needed 2 days off work at another time. I said I could volunteer to work any weekend extra (which they so badly needed and asked for every week) but I never got those 2 days off. it was said that we wouldnt get much in jun, july, aug, when its peak season. But I had never expected that that meant nothing in Jan, feb, march, april or may either. They have told everyone that they will get to start taking time in september. But so many people have left that place during the last couple of months that headcount is WAY too low as it is, PLUS they are now taking onboard one of the biggest clients ever. Nobody will be able to take any holiday, september, october, nov or december either... what good are annual leave when you cant use it??
